👷 Pallet Flipping: A legit side hustle that makes you money

here's how to get started

GM. This is Work "After" Work, the newsletter that sifts out all the sand, leaving you only with the gold.

It’s Taco Tuesday, let’s boogie:

  • 👷 Pallet flipping

  • 😂 Meme of the day

To the 113 new readers since my last email - Welcome to the WAW fam! 😊

I made $27 yesterday while waiting for my coffee

So I've been testing this app called KashKick for a few weeks now, and it's legitimately the easiest side money I've found.

You literally get paid to:

  • Download and try new apps (took me 3 mins)

  • Play mobile games (made $50 from ONE game last week)

  • Answer quick surveys when you're bored

The best part? Money hits your PayPal instantly - no waiting 30 days like those other survey sites. I cashed out $43 last Thursday and used it for date night.

Just:

  1. Create your account

  2. Connect your PayPal (this unlocks the instant cash-outs)

  3. Start with the highest-paying offers on your dashboard

PALLET FLIPPING

Today I’ve got a simple and gritty side hustle that I never knew existed - flipping pallets. And no, not those mystery pallets with a bunch of stuff on them (because those are all scams).

I’m talking about just plain old pallets. These things:

I spent the week researching all about pallet flipping and besides some crazy facts (like 60% of all the lumber in the world is used to make pallets) it turns out this could be a really good way to make an extra $100 to $500 a weekend.

Another fun fact: businesses will give you their pallets for free or even pay you to take their extras as they would otherwise have to pay a disposal company to come haul them away.

Particularly, big box stores always have a huge pallet problem. Inventory comes in constantly, it gets unloaded, and pallets get set aside.

They do that again, and again, and pretty soon these big box stores look like they’re playing a full-scale game of Jenga.

That’s where this opportunity lies.

Provide value to these stores by taking pallets off their hands. No more disposal or recycling expenses. Take these pallets and flip them to businesses that actually need them.

Go wherever you see pallets. This could be stopping when you see them on your way home from work (if you have a truck) or renting out a trailer on the weekends.

Check out construction sites, furniture stores, and small business warehouses. When you come across some, ask who’s in charge and if you can take their extra pallets.

Who are your customers?
Pallet yards are a go-to for making a quick flip. To find one use this directory and it will give you pallet companies in your area. Or simply search “pallet buyers near me” on Google.

When I do this I see “Cardinal Pallet Co.” is a family owned pallet business in the Chicagoland area.

I’d call them up, ask if they’re looking to buy pallets and how much they’re willing to pay. Maybe it’s 4, 5, 6, or even 7 dollars a pallet if yours are in good condition.

One good weekend of renting a trailer (that costs $19 for 6 hours) and gathering 100 pallets could make you anywhere from $400 to $700.

(5×8 is what you’ll need)

How I would go about this

Work backwards.

First call around and see who will offer you the most money per pallet. This way you know your buyer and what they’re willing to pay. So if you do have to pay for a pallet, you know your spread.

Next, I’d scout around my neighborhood.

Go on reddit and facebook groups to see if others are talking about businesses that have tons of pallets. If you drive to the back of a lot of these businesses you’ll see if they have overstock.

If you find one, go ask if you can take the pallets for them. Maybe they’ll try to sell them for cheap. That’s okay as long as you’re making more from the businesses who are buying them from you.

It’s a simple side hustle but it’s providing real value to businesses and will make you money from day one.

Be smart about how far you’re driving and how much you’re profiting per pallet and this side gig could pay for your whole grocery bill every month (or half considering bacon is now $7 a package 🤦‍♂️)

And that’s all I got. Let me know your thoughts below!👇️

MEME OF THE DAY

😂

I almost gave up on my $30k debt until I tried this

You know what sucks? Debt. I’ve been there, it ain’t fun. So I built myself a simple debt paydown tracker and it eliminated my $30k in debt without me having to eat Ramen for the next 3 years. Now my readers are becoming debt-free 2x faster than traditional methods.

It’s stupidly simple:

  • Shows your EXACT debt-free date (mine moved up by 4 years!)

  • Adjusts when your income changes (hello, side hustles)

  • Takes literally 2 minutes to set up

  • Works whether you owe $5K or $100K

For $9 (less than one takeout order), you'll save thousands in interest.

See how it works → (I made a quick video showing the whole system)

That's a wrap ladies & gents!
