How to profit from broken hearts 💔

these businesses will surprise you

GM. This is Work "After" Work, the newsletter that has more flavor than your fingertips after eating Flamin' Hot Cheetos.

It’s Taco Tuesday! Let’s jump in:

  • 💔 The Breakup Business

  • 😂 Meme of the day

The #1 question I get all the time is “Faares I have some debt. But how do I pay it off?”

And based on the responses I get from this newsletter I know that you probably have some sort of debt, which is not a bad thing… I myself had over $50,000 worth of debt BUT I got out of it and paid it all off. And it was really because of this Debt Tracker/Calculator I created.

All of the money apps didn’t work for me. I had to be in my own file updating the numbers to actually stay on track - it kept me disciplined.

So that’s what I’m here to do today for you guys.

If you have just $1,000 of debt or $10,000’s, this calculator will help you get rid of it!

  • It tells you the minimum amount to pay every month for each loan in order to clear your debt the fastest while avoiding interest

  • How long it will take you to pay off each loan

  • The best strategies to use (Avalanche or Snowball)

  • And much more!

If you want to get rid of that glooming debt cloud hanging over your head, trust me my debt calculator won't disappoint! Click here to see everything included and watch a free tutorial on how it works!

BREAKUPS DON'T ONLY BREAK YOUR HEART, THEY BREAK THE BANK

Here’s a stat you probably didn’t know: the average person spends over $1,000 after a breakup.

And if you think that's a lot.. I did some digging and found testimonials of people spending way more than that.

Try $2,000 on a new wardrobe or $4,000 on a break-up vacation.

Now take a guess at how many breakups happen every year? I’ll wait.

Needless to say, breakups are expensive and there’s actually a lot of money to be made in the “breakup business”.

And before you shoot the messenger, no I’m not advocating to profit off heartbreak. I’m a lover not a fighter, these opportunities will help people get better and feel better!

And the data shows this is exactly what people want. This subreddit for support after breakups has grown by over 2,000% these past 5 years 👀

So here’s two opportunities you can take to ride the back of this trend:

1. Seven Day Detox Care Package

When someone goes through a breakup, it sucks..but a box full of all their favorite things is certain to cheer them up to a better state of mind.

After all, who can eat Swedish Fish without a smile? It's like trying to order Subway without saying "umm"... it's impossible.

That's what your care package will provide - a smile.

Inside each one could contain a healing crystal, a juice cleanse, nicely scented candles, a calendar with daily affirmations that you pull off every morning to get your day started right, and some candy or comfort snacks.

When people are down in the dumps, this is the exact type of package they need to get back on their feet.

Here are some care packages I found on Amazon to give you an idea of what it could look like.

If you crush it on packaging and make an amazing product experience, people will buy this for their newly single friends.

How do you find buyers?
Experiment with Facebook ads. You can target people whose relationship status recently changed or people who are interested in self-care and emotional support.

2. The Destroy Box

Alright, now this next one is a little bit more strange but here me out. I think it could work.

Have you ever seen those videos of mechanical presses crushing stuff?

Like these:

Besides from the fact that these are extremely addicting to watch, they provide great content and absolutely obliterate anything that's beneath them.

What are some feelings people have when they go through a breakup? Sad, angry, frustrated, and if they cheated on you - absolutely pissed.

You could have a service where you provide empty boxes and inside these boxes people put anything of their significant other's that they don't want anymore. It then gets shipped to you and you destroy it - in spectacular fashion.

There was actually a fake startup that did this called "Empti" where the idea was you buy an empty box, put all the items in it that were causing you hardship, and ship them away.

You could do the same thing, with a twist.

Your copywriting could be something like: "Get rid of all the bad memories. Put all “their” stuff in this box, send it to us, and we’ll destroy it...and send you the vid"

It could be lighting it on fire, exploding it, running it over in a car, or crushing it in a mechanical press.

And of course, you have to finish the loop.

Each customer who buys one of these boxes will receive a video of the items inside being destroyed.

From there, they can do whatever they want with the video - send it to their friends, send it to their ex in spite, or just watch it over and over again because it's so addicting.

This might sound like a petty service, maybe because it is, but I think it could actually have a lot of benefits:

  • It would remove the items that were causing your customer bad memories

  • It would help your customer have a "start fresh mentality"

  • And best of all, it provides great content.. and people love content

If you think this idea is totally wack, reply with "wack". But if not, respond with "10/10". I'll share the results in the next newsletter on what the split is: petty vs not petty 😂😂
